Jagr frustrated with Devils' line shuffling

New Jersey Devils forward Jaromir Jagr isn't too thrilled about the inconsistency of the team's lines.

"It keeps changing," Jagr told the Newark Star-Ledger. "You get new guys coming in and out. I don’t really like it, but that’s the way it is."

Jagr has remained on the Devils top line all season, but the line as a whole has been a revolving door. 

Center Travis Zajac and winger Dainius Zubrus have been his most common linemates, but rookies Reid Boucher and Joe Whitney have also auditioned alongside Jagr.

"This game is too quick to play with guys you don’t know about," Jagr said. "Sometimes you have to do things when you don’t even see them. You have to have a sense that he should be there. The game is so quick. We’ll see what happens."

The 41-year-old went ten games without a goal until turning things around recently. He now has three in his past four games. Zajac is in the midst of an 11-game goal-less drought.

Whitney appears to be the temporary solution, but Jagr isn't sure how it will work out long-term.

"It’s tough to say," Jagr said. "We had the one practice together. He’s going to play with us [on Friday night]. We’ll find out in the game. The game is different from practice."
