Oilers' Ben Scrivens sets NHL record with 59-save shutout against Sharks
In his first shutout as an Edmonton Oiler, Ben Scrivens turned away 59 shots to set a NHL regular season record in a 3-0 statement victory over the San Jose Sharks.
It's the most saves in a shutout since the league expanded from six teams in 1967, in a game that hasn't gone to overtime. The previous record was 54, held by Coyotes goalie Mike Smith.

Mike Smith held previous record of 54...Patrick Roy had 63 in 1996 and Hasek 70 in 1994, but those were long OT playoff games.

Even the L.A. Kings, who traded him to the Oilers, got in on the love for Scrivens.
