Jay Pandolfo announces retirement after 15 NHL seasons
Forward Jay Pandolfo announced his retirement on Thursday after 15 seasons in the NHL, as per the NHLPA's official website.
Drafted in the second round by the New Jersey Devils in 1993, Pandolfo appeared in 899 NHL games, scoring 100 goals and 126 assists. He was a also member of two Stanley Cup winning teams in New Jersey (2000, 2003), registering 33 points in 131 playoff games.
Pandolfo ended his career with shorts stints with the New York Islanders and Boston Bruins.
“I was very fortunate to live my dream of playing in the NHL. I was lucky to be part of three great organizations and would like to thank the New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders and Boston Bruins,” Pandolfo said. “I would like to thank all my teammates, coaches and staff for all the memorable experiences together. I'd especially like to thank my family for all the support they have given me throughout my career.”
