USA vs. CAN: Canada leads USA 1-0 with under five minutes to play

This is the steak dinner version of hockey, with all of the fixings.

Team Canada and Team USA have slugged it out on Friday in the semifinal of the Olympic men's ice hockey tournament. The game has been fast paced, the chances have been plentiful, and the stage is set for a dramatic third frame.

Canada continued to put the boot to their American counterparts, out-shooting and out-chancing their opponent by a wide margin in the second period. However the Americans have continued to press, and came within six inches of tying the game when a jam play slipped through Carey Price's five-hole but skirted safely wide of the Canadian net.

The Canadian penalty kill has been particularly good, and has had to be, as the Americans have drawn three penalties so far in the contest - including a controversial slashing call on Chris Kunitz late in the second period. Hockey coaches are taking notice:

A breathless third period and a berth in the gold medal game awaits. Can Canada hold on?
