Detroit Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall was forced to exit Saturday's game against the Minnesota Wild after falling hard into the boards while chasing the puck with forward Mikko Koivu.

The Red Wings can ill afford to lose their top defenseman in the thick of a playoff race, and it appears as though the injury may not be too serious.
