Analysis:

While the Coyotes further noted that Smith's injury isn't as severe as initially feared, the ailment nonetheless takes him out of commission for a crucial stretch of time for both fantasy owners and the playoff-hopeful Coyotes. Thomas Greiss has played well in Smith's stead and it may make sense to scoop him up off the waiver wire if still available.
