Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban has been benched before, but never so quickly by head coach Michel Therrien.
On Friday night, the Canadiens were down two goals in the first five minutes to the Ottawa Senators. The second goal was deflected past Peter Budaj by Subban accidentally.
Therrien sat Subban from that point on playing just 37 seconds in the first period. The Canadiens would tie the game up 3-3 without a shift from Subban.
