Washington Capitals rookie forward Tom Wilson may be hearing from the NHL's Department of Player Safety for the second time in as many seasons.
The 20-year-old winger avoided supplemental discipline for a hit from behind on Philadelphia Flyers center Brayden Schenn last season, but on Friday night in Newark, he did this to New Jersey Devils forward Patrik Elias.

Wilson's hit on Elias came midway through the first period of the Devils 2-1 win. The veteran Devils forward laid on the ice for several minutes but skated off under his own power.
He did not return.
The league will now be tasked with deciding whether the hit was a suspendable offense or merely an unfortunate location for a legal hit.
