Kingston F Sam Bennett tops Central Scouting's final 2014 NHL Draft rankings
NHL Central Scouting has stuck with skilled Kingston Frontenac's forward Sam Bennett at the top of their Final NHL Draft Rankings list, released Tuesday.
Bennett, who was also ranked as the top North American skater on Central Scouting's Mid-Term Rankings, is something of a surprise #1 prospect. Other top prospects Aaron Ekblad and Sam Reinhart are higher profile, and remain the most likely names to be called with the first overall pick at the draft in June.
Bennett managed 91 points in 57 games for the high-octane Frontenac's this past season. Kingston outscored opponents by 45 goals with Bennett on the ice this past season, which is wildly impressive considering the team outscored opponents by 46 goals overall.
