Canucks' Daniel Sedin stretchered off the ice after hit from behind by Flames' Byron
Late in the second period of the final game of the regular season, Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin - who had scored two goals in the game to that point - was hit in the numbers by Calgary Flames forward Paul Byron.
Sedin, whose head contacted the boards after the hit, lay immobile and prone on the ice for several minutes before being stretchered off. He appeared to be severely injured.
Here's a look at the hit:

Byron was assessed a major for boarding and a game misconduct on the play.
The Canucks and the Flames already had some ugly games this season, with a contest in mid-January devolving into a massive brawl. The atmosphere in Rogers Arena after this hit is tense, to put it mildly:
There are rumblings of security concerns, talk of getting Nhl security on Flames bench. Worry of things getting ugly here, Flames Canucks.
