Ducks' Frederik Andersen sustains apparent lower-body injury, leaves Game 3
In the third period of Thursday night's Game 3 between the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings, with the Ducks nursing a one-goal lead in a critical contest, young Ducks starter Frederik Andersen sustained an apparent injury.
Andersen fell awkwardly and his right leg was caught underneath him. After being examined by Ducks trainers, he ultimately had to leave the game

The young Danish netminder was replaced by Jonas Hiller, who started Games 1 and 2 for Anaheim and is a capable option in net. If Andersen's injury is serious, however, the Ducks may recall John Gibson - widely considered the "best goaltender outside the NHL" - from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League. Gibson's Admirals are currently facing the St. John's Ice Caps in the Calder Cup playoffs.
