Islanders sign Halak to 4-year deal

For the first time in years it looks as though the New York Islanders will have some stability in goal.

Halak, who was acquired by the Islanders from the Washington Capitals on May 1 in exchange for a fourth-round pick (2014), posted a 29-13-7 record with a 2.25 GAA and a .921 save percentage in 52 games split between the St. Louis Blues and Capitals.
The deal is worth a reported $18 million over the four-year term.
