Canadiens' Prust suspended 2 games for interference after late hit on Rangers' Stepan

Montreal Canadiens forward Brandon Prust has been suspended two games for interference after an incident involving Rangers forward Derek Stepan during Game 3 Thursday in New York.

As explained, Prust delivered a "late, violent" hit, driving his left shoulder up and into Stepan's chest and jaw "well after Stepan released the puck and well past the time he is eligible to be checked."
Supplemental discipline, therefore, was deemed necessary because of the hit's lateness and the significant head contact delivered on the play.
