VIDEO: Canadiens' Subban apologizes after hitting Bruins' Bergeron: 'I thought you were Marchy'
Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron was mic'd up for Game 6 of his team's second-round playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens, and, as evidenced on the 24/7-style program "Behind the B," fell prey to a case of mistaken identity.
As the video shows, Bergeron and Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban get involved in a skirmish in the corner behind the play, and after Subban appeared to bump Bergeron's head, he apologized because he thought it was Brad Marchand.
Here's a transcript of the exchange.
It's a hilarious conversation, considering Brad Marchand's reputation as a super pest and the apparent contrast in attitude towards Bergeron; at the same time, it reveals a rare glimpse of sportsmanship in what was an otherwise bitterly contested series between the two rival teams.
