The Nashville Predators have signed free-agent defenseman Johan Alm to a two-year, entry-level contract, as per the team's official website.
The undrafted 22-year-old spent the past four seasons playing for Skelleftea of the Swedish Hockey League, a club that won the league title in 2013 and 2014 and finished second in 2011 and 2012. He also represented Sweden at both the Under-18 and Under-20 World Junior Hockey Championships.
In 135 SHL games, the 6-foot-2, 209-pound defenseman amassed 22 points (4 goals, 18 assists), seven of which came in 30 games in 2013-14.
The addition of Alm will serve to add depth and size to a Nashville blue line that features Shea Weber and Seth Jones.
