Maple Leafs select William Nylander with 8th overall pick in NHL draft

The Toronto Maple Leafs drafted second-ranked center William Nylander with the eighth pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft.
Nylander, born in Calgary, Alberta, played for three different teams in Sweden including Modo Hockey Ornskoldsvik, Rogle BK and Sodertalje SK. Through a combined 57 games played, Nylander scored 34 points.
He is an undersized center at 5'11, 169 pounds and will need to pack on the weight to make the jump to the NHL.
