The San Jose Sharks announced Tuesday afternoon center Logan Couture underwent hand surgery for the second time in six months.
From general manager Doug Wilson:
Last week, Logan underwent successful surgery to repair a hand injury suffered in a fight in Game Six of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against Mike Richards. The procedure went as expected and Logan will be ready for the start of training camp.
Couture underwent hand surgery in January with the hope he would be ready in time to represent Canada at the Olympics in Sochi. He was not named to the team.
After surgery, Couture missed 16 games and returned to the lineup Feb. 27. It is not clear if the same hand injured in Jan. was the hand injured in the playoffs.
