Sidney Crosby claims second Hart Trophy

Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby claimed his second Hart Trophy as NHL MVP Tuesday, beating out Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf and Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux.

Crosby, playing in his first full season since 2009-10, led the league in scoring with 104 points, easily outpacing second place Getzlaf by an astonishing 17 points. He was a major part of a Penguins machine that ran away with the Metropolitan Division (and finished second in the East), playing in all situations while displaying a solid two-way game to complement his offensive brilliance.

Although it didn't count toward his Hart candidacy, Crosby captained Canada to a gold medal at the 2014 Olympics, posting three points in six games, including a goal in the gold medal game against Sweden.

The 26-year-old last captured the Hart Trophy in 2006-07, and was a runner-up to Alex Ovechkin in 2012-13.

Crosby received 128 of 137 first-place votes. Here's a look at how the voting went down.
