NHL releases 2014-15 regular-season schedule
After offering fans a tease Saturday by revealing next season's 30 home openers, the NHL has released the full regular-season schedule for the 2014-15 campaign.
The Los Angeles Kings begin defense of their Stanley Cup title on opening night Oct. 8 against visiting San Jose, while the Eastern Conference-champion New York Rangers get their first crack at revenge Jan. 8 at Staples Center.
Jan. 16 marks the return of Washington head coach Barry Trotz to Nashville, where he spent the previous 15 years as the only bench boss in Predators franchise history before being fired this off-season. Meanwhile, the Phoenix Coyotes play their first game as the newly-named Arizona Coyotes on Oct. 9 against the visiting Winnipeg Jets.
The 1,230-game sked concludes Saturday, April 11, with all 30 teams in action - including Montreal visiting Toronto, San Jose in Los Angeles and Chicago heading to Colorado.
