The Philadelphia Flyers drafted 53rd-ranked defenseman Travis Sanheim with the seventeenth pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft.
Sanheim, from Elkhorn, Manitoba, scored 29 points in 67 games with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL. He appeared in seven games for Team Canada at the Under-18 World Championships tallying six assists, helping Canada to a bronze medal.
The six-foot-three defenseman could turn out to be a steal down the road if he is taken after the first round.
