Avalanche's Paul Stastny will test the free agent market
The Colorado Avalanche are entering dangerous territory with free agent Paul Stastny.
According to Adrian Dater of The Denver Post, Stastny will become a free agent this summer while keeping the option open to return to Colorado if they were to match an offer from another team.
General manager Joe Sakic told Dater that Stastny wants to "see what’s out there."
The Avalanche aren't the only team that would like Stastny playing for them come September. Michael Russo of the StarTribune reported Tuesday night, "the Wild has significant interest in Paul Stastny if he gets to free agency (like many teams)."
One thing that's for sure is there will be more than enough interest in Stastny who hasn't scored less than 50 points in a full season through the last six years.
