The New York Rangers reportedly set aside $4 million to retain free agent Anton Stralman, but the defenseman appears dissatisfied with the club's allotment.

The Rangers' reported value is generous for a mid-pairing blue-liner, but with just over $8 million in career earnings in seven NHL seasons, Stralman's desire to maximize his value is just.
Playing at a premium position, the 27-year-old will cash in on the open market if New York fails to improve its offer.
