Sharks sign Tommy Wingels to 3-year, $7.4M contract extension
The San Jose Sharks signed forward Tommy Wingels to a three-year, $7.4-million contract extension Tuesday, according to the team's official website.
The deal is worth $7.4-million, with an annual cap hit of $2,466,667 (via Capgeek).
"Tommy stepped forward and made a big commitment to our organization," said general manager Doug Wilson. "He is an important part of our team and a hard working, physical presence in our lineup. He competes the way we want our team to play and we're excited to have his leadership, both on and off the ice, in our locker room for three more seasons."
In 77 games this past season, Wingels scored 16 goals and added 22 assists, earning himself a new nickname in the process.
