Ducks sign Dany Heatley to 1-year contract
The Anaheim Ducks have added some potential scoring depth in the form of forward Dany Heatley, signing the 33-year-old to a one-year contract believed to be worth $1-million, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.
Since joining the NHL in 2001, Heatley has produced to the tune of 0.43 goals per game, amassing 372 in 863 career games with the Atlanta Thrashers, Ottawa Senators, San Jose Sharks and Minnesota Wild.
His offensive prowess has taken a hit in recent years, however, and his 12 goals in 2013-14 represent a career-low in a non-lockout season.
The term and monetary value of the deal make it a fairly low-risk proposition, with the possibility of a relatively medium to high reward.
