Heatley signs with Ducks: 'I want to prove a lot of people wrong'
Coming off one of the worst statistical seasons of his career, and fresh off signing a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks, forward Dany Heatley said he "wanted another chance" to prove he can play at the NHL level, and believes he can help the Anaheim Ducks compete in an ultra-competitive Western Conference.
Heatly on signing with the #NHLDucks: "I want to prove a lot of people wrong, and I'm glad Anaheim is giving me the chance."

Heatley may be afforded the opportunity to play alongside Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry - with whom he skated at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver - on the team's top line. The 33-year-old called the pair "world-class players" and pumped Getzlaf's tires as the "best in the league," adding he'll be ready to embrace the challenge come training camp.
Heatley on possibly playing with Getzlaf and Perry: "My job is to get ready this summer and come in ready to get a chance with those guys."

With his best days likely behind him, Heatley has proven to have a nose for the net over the course of his career, and could prove to be a shrewd addition if his motivation translates into production on the ice.
