The Florida Panthers signed defenseman Dylan Olsen to a two-year contract, general manager Dale Tallon announced Monday.
The 23-year-old - a first-round Draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2009 - appeared in 44 games for the Panthers last season, scoring three goals and adding nine assists in 15:26 of average ice time. He also proved to be a positive possession player, with a 51.1 Corsi For rating at even strength, as per Extra Skater.
Olsen was acquired by Florida in a deal involving forward Kris Versteeg. He played 28 games as a Blackhawk, registering one assist back in 2011-12.
Terms of Olsen's new deal have not yet been announced.
