Bruins sign 2014 1st-round pick David Pastrnak to entry-level contract
The Boston Bruins officially announced the signing of 18-year-old forward David Pastrnak - selected by the club with the 25th overall pick at the 2014 NHL entry draft - to a three-year, entry-level contract on Tuesday.
The young forward, who lit up the Allsvenkan as a teenager last season, recently attended the Bruins' development camp where he made an excellent first impression. While Pastrnak isn't expected to make the Bruins this upcoming season, Bruins executives have refused to put "a limit" or timetable on his development curve and seem primed to give the talented teenager every opportunity to make the NHL roster as soon as this fall.
"It’s another step along the way," Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said of signing Pastrnak to his entry-level deal via the club's official twitter account. "Let's not put the cart before the horse with David, we'll see where it goes from here."
