Capitals sign 2014 1st-round pick Jakub Vrána to entry-level contract
The Washington Capitals have signed forward Jakub Vrána to a three-year, entry-level contract the club announced Tuesday.
Selected with the 13th-overall pick at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Vrána impressed with his sky-high skill level at the club's recent summer development camp.
Vrana split last season between the SuperElit (a Swedish junior league) and the SHL (Sweden's top men's league). The 18-year-old Czech international held his own against the men managing two goals and three points in 24 games, and dominated his age group recording over a point per game with Linköping's junior team.
