NBC Sports announces 2014-15 national broadcast schedule, will air 103 NHL games
NBC Sports Group announced their broadcast schedule for the 2014-15 NHL season on Tuesday.
The schedule will feature 103 games, 14 on NBC and 89 on NBCSN, with all games being streamed live in the United States via NBC Sports Live Extra.
The Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks will each make 12 appearances across the two NBC channels, while seven other clubs will appear 11 times. Four matchups - Bruins vs. Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackahwks vs. St. Loius Blues, Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Flyers and Kings vs. Sharks - will be featured four times on the two networks.
NBC's coverage will be premiere on November 28th, and last through to the awarding of the Stanley Cup.
The 2015 Winter Classic will be broadcast on NBC at 1 p.m. ET on January 1, 2015. Also worth noting from AwfulAnnouncing.com associate editor Steve Lepore:
NBCSN has Kings-Sharks on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 10 p.m. ET on its schedule, just like Rogers does. Gee, why whatever would they do that?

It's long been presumed that the February 21st game between the two Californian rivals has been bookmarked for an outdoor game hosted at either AT&T Park in San Francisco or Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
Finally, NBC will be doubling down on their "Wednesday Night Rivalry" coverage with 10 Wednesday night doubleheaders.
