Nashville Predators forward and Swiss Olympian Simon Moser, a restricted free agent, would appear to be at an impasse in contract negotiations with the Predators. Moser, 25, remains unsigned and for now is holding out for a higher AHL salary.

"We are in talks with other clubs," Moser's agent Georges Müller told Kristopher Martel of the Predatorial tihs week. "A return to Nashville is only an option if the Predators are willing to increase the AHL salary."

Moser was signed to a one-year, entry-level contract by Nashville prior to the beginning of the 2013-14 season and his salary last season was only $70,000 at the AHL level, which is typical for an entry-level deal.

Because of Moser's ties to Switzerland, home of the most popular European professional hockey league, the National League A, he can likely do much better with SC Bern who own Moser's rights were he to return to the Swiss league.

The 6-foot-2, 214 pound forward appeared in six NHL games last season, managing a goal and two total points. In 48 games with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals, Mosers scored eight times and added 18 assists for 26 total points.
