Maple Leafs sign Daniel Winnik to 1-year contract reportedly worth $1.3-million

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced the signing of free agent forward Daniel Winnik to a one-year contract on Monday.
Winnik had a career season with the Anaheim Ducks in 2013-14, recording 30 points in 76 games. The 29-year-old is coming off a two-year, $3.6-million deal with the Ducks.
Financial terms of Winnik's contract with Toronto were not disclosed, but Craig Custance reports it is worth $1.3 million.
Winnik should provide a physical, defensive presence on the Maple Leafs' lower lines. He has made a career out of being an effective depth forward who always seems to get overlooked at the start of free-agency.
