Maple Leafs unveiling plans to honor 'greats' Thursday

On Thursday, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment will announce plans to construct a monument outside Air Canada Centre to conceal what's within celebrate the Toronto Maple Leafs' storied history.
Tim Leiweke and company will reveal the names of three former Leafs that will have life-size statues erected in their honor, according to Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun.
The initial sculptures will set the groundwork for an evolving monument that will have distinguished members added to a "bench" until the Maple Leafs reach their century season in 2017-18.
The bench will reportedly feature upwards of 11 statues upon completion, so in other words, Dion Phaneuf won't be bronzed... just yet.
