Flames' Hiller recovered from appendicitis attack
Calgary Flames goaltender Jonas Hiller has recovered from his appendicitis attack and will be ready for the start of training camp.
"He's back, 100 percent, skating, working out," Flames GM Brad Treliving told the Calgary Herald via NHL.com. "He's been back in his routine, fully functional, and no issues."
Hiller was rushed into emergency surgery after falling ill at a goaltending school in his native Switzerland last month.
The 32-year-old was pinched out of the Anaheim Ducks' crease last season despite posting commendable numbers in his seventh year with the organization. He notched a 29-13-7 record with a 2.48 goals against average and .911 save percentage, but fell out of coach Bruce Boudreau's favor with the emergence of Frederik Andersen and John Gibson.
Calgary signed Hiller to a two-year deal worth $9 million on July 1.
