Analysis:
It's no secret that the weakest part of the Islanders is the defense, so it's not a shock that a rookie could start for the Isles, but it was originally thought that if any first-year player got the call, it would be Griffin Reinhart. Pulock's hard shot from the point and willingness to jump into the offensive zone seems to have captured the attention of coach Jack Capuano. Even so, it's still probably most likely that the 19-year-old opens the season in the AHL in an attempt to find him regular ice time.
