Analysis:

The 23-year-old Beck had previously been attending Predators camp on a tryout basis, so his earning a contract would seem to bolster his chances of making the squad. Even so, there's still a chance that the Preds waive him if they decide to proceed with other options in their bottom six, banking on the fact that Beck will more than likely clear waivers and remain in the system at AHL Milwaukee, where he totaled 49 points last season.
