VIDEO: Canucks anthem singer bails while signing anthem, Canadian crowd finishes it for him
In Canada, the typical standoff involves two people standing at the entrance of an elevator both saying to the other "after you."
Canada is an overly polite and hockey obsessed nation and both of those qualities were on fully display at the Penticton Vees game on Friday night. Regular Canucks anthem singer Mark Donnelly, who has recently lost a significant amount of weight, was skating around the ice while leading the crowd in a rousing rendition of "O Canada!"
Unfortunately Donnelly, who perhaps isn't used to singing the anthem while skating, skated right over the red carpet and promptly tripped (he fell again when he tried to get up).
Luckily Donnelly was okay. He even kept on signing shortly after missing a beat, and then he allowed the polite Canadian crowd in attendance to fill in for him and finish the tune:
So. Canadian.
