Blackhawks' Shaw says Islanders' Leddy was 'sick of just waiting' for a trade

The Chicago Blackhawks had to make a move to get under the salary cap, and that move was sending defenseman Nick Leddy to the New York Islanders after months of trade speculation.
The response from many Blackhawks was the same, as they explained they would miss Leddy, but it's part of the business.
Andrew Shaw was a little more outspoken with his answer.
"He just wanted it to happen. He was sick of just waiting," Shaw told CSNChicago. "Obviously he’s sad to go but he’s excited about the new adventure and he’ll be missed in the room."
Leddy was chased by the Winnipeg Jets as well as the Islanders, according to Gary Lawless.
