New York Rangers coach Alain Vigneault told reporters Thursday that Kevin Hayes should receive medical clearance from team doctors before the weekend.
The timetable suggests the Boston College standout could make his debut Saturday when the Rangers host the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Hayes made the club out of camp despite tweaking his shoulder in the second-to-last preseason game.
