The Montreal Canadiens rallied from a 3-0 hole on Saturday night, storming back to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in a shootout.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds scored twice for the second straight game. He tallied a pair in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the New Jersey Devils.
  • Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec matched Simmonds with his fourth goal of the season, then assisted on Alex Galchenyuk's tying goal late in the third period.
  • Montreal scored all three regulation goals in the third period, beginning with Andrei Markov's first of the season.
  • The Canadiens outshot the Flyers 19-4 in the third.
  • P.A. Parenteau's shootout-winner was the only successful attempt.
  • The Flyers had a golden opportunity to win the game in overtime when Canadiens' forward Lars Eller took a tripping penalty at the 2:23 mark of the extra frame, but Philadelphia couldn't capitalize.
  • Montreal improves to 3-0-0, while Philadelphia falls to 0-2-1.
