VIDEO: Lightning's Nabokov makes unbelievable stick save on Devils' Ryder
Kim Klement / USA Today
Evgeni Nabokov was unable to win his first start with the Tampa Bay Lightning, but he certainly made an impression with this desperation stick save on New Jersey Devils forward Michael Ryder.
Nabokov stretched across the crease and reached out with his stick to deflect a wide-open opportunity for Ryder at the side of the net. The save kept the score 0-0 heading into the first intermission.
Nabokov finished with 23 saves on 25 shots, but the Devils prevailed 2-1.
