Ducks coach Boudreau on Pacific Division banner: 'Nobody cares'
Anaheim Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau hoped his team would go further in the playoffs and doesn't think much of their Pacific Division champion banner.
Anaheim will hold its home opener in front of the Minnesota Wild Friday night as the Ducks' new banner hangs from the rafters of the Honda Center.
"In the end, no matter how great it feels to win the division against the teams that are in our division, if you don’t go further than that, nobody cares," Boudreau told Michael Russo of the StarTribune.
"It is saying something you won it, but we want no fanfare with that," Boudreau continued. "Hopefully there will be a bigger banner there some time in the next year."
The Ducks have won their last three games, dropping just one to the Pittsburgh Penguins to begin their season.
