Agent: 'No truth' to report that Flyers made offer to Ryan Whitney

Ryan Whitney wasn't offered an opportunity to return to the NHL by the Philadelphia Flyers after all.

Paul Krepella, Whitney's agent, says there "no truth" to reports that the Flyers made an offer to his client, according to Tim Panaccio of CSN.

Whitney's under contract with KHL's Sochi Tiger Leopards and does have an out-clause, but he doesn't appear on the verge of using it quite yet.

In 481 career regular-season NHL games, he scored 50 goals and added 209 assists.
