Report: Bruins sign coach Claude Julien to 3-year contract extension
The Boston Bruins remain committed to head coach Claude Julien.
The club has rewarded Julien for his great string of success with a three-year contract extension, Elliotte Friedman reported on Hockey Night in Canada. He added the Bruins do not talk publicly about coaches' contracts or situations.
The Bruins are bogged down by injuries at the moment, with a record of 6-6-0 to begin the new season.
During his tenure in Boston, however, Julien - who has been behind Boston's bench since 2007 - guided the team to a Stanley Cup victory, another appearance in the Final, and a President's Trophy.
Julien was asked to comment on the report following Boston's 4-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
His response?
Julien on report of extension: “I have no comments on that – absolutely not. Let’s talk about the team.”
