Canucks GM on Bieksa's eye injury: 'I don't think it's as serious as what people think it is'
Vancouver Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa was struck in the right eye by a puck in the first period of Sunday night's game between the Canucks and the Nashville Predators. It was a freak accident, and a potentially dangerous one.
Bieksa didn't return to the game and was spotted leaving the game with a doctor in tow.
While eye injuries in hockey have been devastating for any number of players in the recent past, there's some good news on the Bieksa-injury front. Canucks general manager Jim Benning, at least, seems optimistic:

That's great news for Bieksa and the Canucks. Vancouver is due to begin a four game road trip on Tuesday in Colorado, and while Bieksa will travel with the team, he's questionable for Tuesday, according to Sportsnet's Dan Murphy.
