No longer limited to cartoon characters, real people – professional athletes get the mumps.
The Anaheim Ducks announced late Wednesday night that forward Corey Perry and defenseman Francois Beauchemin had each contracted, and are recovering from, cases of the viral disease.
Perry, who has now missed four games since contracting the illness, has been cleared to return after being hospitalized last week. He is considered day-to-day.
Beauchemin fell ill shortly after Perry and is currently in hospital, receiving similar IV fluids while under quarantine.
