Report: Avalanche 'very likely' to host outdoor game at Coors Field next season
The Colorado Avalanche appear set to play an outdoor game in the mile-high altitude at Coors Field next season.
The city is very likely to be awarded an outdoor NHL game at the home of Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies in 2015-16, two NHL sources told Adrian Dater of the Denver Post.
It would reportedly be part of the Stadium Series and not the Winter Classic, and would be Denver's first outdoor NHL game.
No opponent has been determined yet, according to the report.
