Gordie Howe showing minor improvement, still not walking or speaking
Gordie Howe is showing some improvement after a major setback last weekend.
"(He) isn't in so much pain anymore. No walking or speech, but at least he's out of the bed," Howe's son, Mark, told Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.
The hockey legend's condition took a turn for the worse Sunday after it appeared he was recovering well from his most recent stroke.
The 86-year-old suffers from dementia and has had several strokes since last summer, including a severe one last month.
Howe is being cared for at his daughter's home in Lubbock, Texas.
