Canadiens prospect Scherbak stretchered off the ice in WHL game
Montreal Canadiens prospect Nikita Scherbak was stretchered off of the ice after a hit along the boards while playing for the Everett Silvertips of the WHL on Saturday.
Scherbak remained immobile on the ice following the hit by Keegan Kolesar of the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Scherbak is undergoing examinations for a back injury but the Silvertips said he was able to move his extremities. The team also ruled out head and neck injuries.
Sportsnet's Andy Eide says that the hit looked harmless, though obviously the result was still injurious.
Scherbak, 18, has scored 11 goals and managed 24 total points in 14 WHL games this season after being drafted by Montreal in this year's draft.
