Panthers' Luongo leaves game after desperation save on Hurricanes' Rask
Robert Mayer / USA Today
Al Montoya is in net for the Florida Panthers after Roberto Luongo appeared to hurt himself making a highlight-reel save in the second period of Wednesday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Hurricanes forward Victor Rask stickhandled around Luongo and appeared to have an open net, but Luongo reached back with his glove to rob Rask.
Luongo went to the Panthers bench to speak with team staff after making the save and left the game following the next play.
Florida confirmed Luongo will not return to the game due to what the team is calling an upper-body injury.
