Jaromir Jagr knows the best way to celebrate one milestone is to reach another.
The New Jersey Devils forward scored in his 1,500th career NHL game on Monday to pull the Devils even with the Carolina Hurricanes in the second period. Jagr fired a one-timer from the slot for his 710th career tally, pulling even with Hall of Famer Marcel Dionne for fifth in all-time points in the process.
Jagr set up Adam Henrique later in the period to take sole possession of fifth on the all-time points list. He is 26 points shy of tying former teammate and current Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis for fourth.
